Whether they result from the natural ageing process or some other condition or life event – such as pregnancy for example – Jodie understands the ways in which laser technology can make a real and lasting difference for each patient.
By making use of individual treatments or using them in combination, Jodie is able to address specific concerns and more general issues, restoring and rejuvenating the skin, and helping her patients enjoy a refreshed, younger-looking appearance.
With a number of highly-effective laser treatments available, Jodie Retallick analyses each patient’s skin in order to recommend the right therapies for their specific issues and conditions. From peels, gel treatments and micro-needling to advanced laser technologies such as radio frequency (RF) and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments, Jodie explains how the different services meet your unique needs.
Your skin consultation
Effective treatment begins with a skin consultation, during which Jodie will analyse your skin, discuss her findings in detail, and suggest the treatment solutions that match your requirements. She will talk things through, making sure you understand the whole process, so that you can make an informed choice about your treatment.
These treatments can be effective for a wide range of skin conditions including: - Skin pigmentation such as sun spots, rosacea and port wine stains - Loose or saggy skin - Depressed scars and other scarring, including surgical scars - Acne outbreaks - Lines and wrinkles - Stretch marks - Bags under the eyes - Dull and dry skin
If you have an uneven complexion or other concerns about your skin texture – that could include sun spots, discolouration, rosacea or visible veins – IPL treatment could be effective for you. However, this is a treatment that may not be suitable if any of the following apply to you: - You have a diagnosis or a history of cancer - You are expecting or currently nursing a baby - You have a light-sensitive condition or disease, such as epilepsy - You have implants made of metal or other materials in the treatment area - You have a condition that could be stimulated by heat - You have certain endocrine disorders that are poorly controlled - You have skin irritation, psoriasis or eczema in the treatment area - You have a tattoo in the treatment area. This is not an exhaustive list, so do talk to Jodie or our team if you have any concerns.
The sensation has been described as a light flick against the skin – a feeling that moves as the applicator is moved. There are no ‘hot spots’, as the applicator features integrated cooling technology.
Expect your treatment to take around 15 to 20 minutes. There is no downtime, so you can put make-up on and go about everyday life straight after it’s finished.
It usually takes around four or five treatments before patients see noticeable results, although this can vary from patient to patient. The length of time that results last also varies, though you can help increase this period by protecting your skin from the sun each day.
There may be some redness that could last up to 24 hours after treatment, and this can be neutralised using make-up if you wish. Avoid hot baths, massages or other activities that involve direct skin contact within the first couple of days after treatment. Rest assured that you will receive full details about how to care for your skin both before and after treatment from our team.
